It's been a difficult pregnancy! This is rather hastily put together but relatively easy I think.

They say they cannot be choosers; a Spanish horseman; we're walking in a certain way. A G is common to all three

(I will be away from 10.30 prompt for just over a hour)

      Thanks Anna!!

I think I can get it, too.... though it's taken me a while as I've been too busy laughing:

      The Gay Caballero

Oh I am a gay caballero
      Going to Rio Janiero
      With nice oily hair,
      And full of hot air,
I'm an expert at shooting the bull-eo

I'll find me a fair senorita
Not thin and yet not too much meat-a.
      I'll woo her a while
      In my Argentine style
And sweep her right off of her feet-a

I'll tell her I'm of the nobilio
And live in a great big castillio.
      I must have a miss
Who will long for a kiss
And not say "Oh don't be so silly-io.

It was at a gay cabaretta
While wining and dining I met her.
      We had one or two
      As other folks do.
The night was wet but we got wetter.

      Where did you hear that??

Or perhaps you're thinking of this:

Either way we're having a Gay day, are we not?

      1. John Gay, Beggars (can't be choosers) Opera
      2. One or both of the above..
      3. Not sure: bit politically-incorrect, this part, ain't it? Is mince involved?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes, we are having a very gay day Duckie!! Beggers Opera and the song Gay Caballero, the missing third element is in no way non PC (would I ever be politically incorrect?!) does not require any mincing and is written by another composer called Gay ....
Glad I made you laugh, I have no idea why I thought of that silly song, which was recorded in 1928 by Frank Crumit. Edit: was still typing so didn't see Am's clip!

Noel Gay, Lambeth walk? (quite a bit of mincing there! )

When he was younger, Robert Lindsay starred as Bill Snibson in the UK production of 'Me and My Girl' with Emma Thompson. It was so successful that it opened ...

Yes, from the Musical Me and My Girl which opened in 1937 (revived in 1984 by Stephen Fry) Noel Gay wrote the music for Lambeth Walk, but not the lyrics.
So that's all neatly wrapped up (sorry it wasn't more classically inclined)
Edit: Having watched the Robert Lindsay clip - yes, there was a bit of mincing!!
So we await Caliban to start us on the next Hoe-Down!

After getting through this somewhat tight entrance, here's a perfect flower and something to help you sleep...

So is the perfect flower a musical answer or a botanical one leading to a musical one?

Sorry Cali - a perfect flower is a particular botanical concept & I was teasing out if was that to which you were referring

Frank Bridge wrote a berceuse - close enough to home?
