Oh, I wish I'd thought of "Idiot"! But I didn't.

Fred should be Fréd, Sibelius is involved, but nothing intimate here! Janacek isn't involved.

A chair for Dr Flay, nurse... quickly!!!

I am now in a series of meetings and a client event until late in the evening so will be unable to join in the fun. If by some chance 'intimate' is right, I hereby assign and transfer all my rights in the J question inalienably and in perpetuity to Dr Flay assuming he's allowed out again after his recent lapse into Idiocy...

      Play nicely!! (Where is Beefy???!)

Cross posted with the Fernster - I hereby revoke utterly the foregoing assignment and transfer
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It's not Inner is it? Sibelius string quartet Voces intimae, in D minor, Op. 56.
I can find a CD called "Inner Voices" featuring Chopin's 2nd PC.

            I'm rambling again...

No, the "intimate" SQ is the wrong one. Opus numbers are useful in the J(e)an part.

              Nice puppy, though!

No, yours is the first - looks like Jan Václav Voříšek

"The first recorded use of the term impromptu in this sense occurred in 1817, in the Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung, an idea of the publisher to describe a piano piece by Jan Václav Voříšek."

                                No; spot on

... the Vorisek "first" pointed out by Flay, and Sibelius' Piano Impromtus are his Op 5 (following his String Quartet in Bb Op 4).

Looking forward to a Goulden J!
