Lev Oborin won the Chopin competition before Uninsky and Aram Khachaturian dedicated his Piano Concerto in D flat to Oborin. Oborin & David Oistrakh premiered Prokofiev Violin Sonata no 1.

Missing a violin sonata, I'm afraid

              Prokofiev? Oh really? :duh!:

              How's about ....

What P was the chosen one in Italy and Canada but not in Poland, which stood him in good stead in the long run when he was the first to be invited to Kuwait and became an ambassador in New York and much further..

Erratum: New York should read Paris My apologies

In 1980 he entered the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and was eliminated in the third round." says wikipedia. I think the reference is to the first name of Ivor Emmanuel.

                          R to connect

Segovia, a grave near Braque's and the Queen of Chittor

Might the answer be Albert Roussel?
He's buried, as is Braques, at Varengeville, he wrote a piece for guitar called 'Segovia' and also composed an opera called 'Padmavati', aka the Queen of Chittor.
