very good - a celebration of the large Damrosch family
Leopold Mannes, nephew of Walter who was the son of Leopold - Walter had a brother Frank who was a conductor
Leopold Damrosch Mannes co-invented Kodachrome with Leopold Godowsky Jr., a violinist and son of the pianist/composer Leopold Godowsky Sr.

well I assume Gioachino is Rossini
Giacomo could be Carissimi, Meyerbeer or Puccini (if it's a composer)
is Ian Stewart an extra Stone ?

But, if you were underweight to start with ..... an extra stone would perhaps be welcome?
Nothing to do with the answer but didn't Eric Clapton play with the Stones? Or have I imagined that?

New York, 1975. I hope the Stones benefited from their session with God.

Meyerbeer, Rossini not Ian Stewart but the instrument is correct.

Clapton jammed with individual members of the Stones eg with Bill and Charlie on the Howling Wolf London Sessions.

Anna I'm delighted to say that the Sun has shone in West Cornwall from early today!

Well, we must have had your usual Cornish weather in exchange, this morning was dully, misty, cloudy, cool, not clearing until way after lunchtime. And, sorry, cannot offer any answer to the puzzle (just to stay ontopic!)
