Britten wrote Six Metamorphoses after Ovid (Op. 49) for solo Oboe in 1951 dedicated to oboist Joy Boughton who gave the first performance at the Aldeburgh Festival on 14 June 1951.

EDIT: I see on the RAM site that "All free tickets have now been allocated, but some tickets are expected to become available in the hour before the performance." Have you got yours already, Ams?
