Great question, ams51, and the penny has dropped here, though I'll leave it for mercia or Dave to tidy up. Good to see a reference to Curzon's teacher, one of my musical heroes

mercia,Taps & Dave appear to have elements of it all - now someone just has to say the name ....
I'm rather busy today, and for the while only working on my iPad. Theodor is the man I think, not Liszt or Landowska. Checked while on the 85 bus!
Maybe mercia will finish this off now, and take on the M.
I'm going out to the Royal Academy of Music in London at 12:00 for today's freebie concert featuring Beethoven piano concerto no 5 with Pierre-Laurent Aimard so you've got just about 30 mins to give the answer or hang on until about 18:00.

Wish I was free
Did you get you ticket in advance or are you pitching up on the door?
PS some furtive googling has been of no use at all in discovering the solution to your question!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

You can usually pitch up, Cailban but next Friday it's Thielermann 'doing' Don Juan & you'll need a free ticket for that. There have been oodles of clues from 'the boys' but none of them seems to want to take the 'M' - take a dekko.
Handling the M might be tricky, but I'll see if I can get it going soon. Connectivity may be poor later on as I'll be on trains etc. for a while, and I've only got my iPad.
