Thank you all for your concern for my well-being. Mrs R is awake and calm has now been restored in Rubbers Mansions. Since you are all too coy to step up to the plate to drink from the chalice and grasp that X by the goolies, I have an X prepared. Yes, that's X as in WeXford. There, I've poached it myself

Without further ado then:
What X connects
- a song penned four years before the composer's death but not aired until 150 years after his birth;
- the formulation of a strategy for Kennedy;
- an intoxicant identified, but not taken, by Verlaine?

The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead by XTC refers to JFK; the Bay of Pigs I think is what you are after.
MDMA = ecstasy. I guess Verlaine must have known about it. Don't know.. But foretold in Clair de Lune: "The fountains tall to sob with ecstasy"Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Hurrah!
XTC by Elgar, Making Plans for Nigel by XTC, and the Verlaine reference was actually 'C'est L'extase' (set by Debussy and Faure). Ecstasy, XTC, HDMA, call it what you will, it comes in the form of a little white pill. I'm sure if it had been around in Verlaine's day he would have taken it along with the absinthe and the opium
Y, Z or A for Flay

Three Ys (first names)
The first I hope will get the right notes in the right order tonight
The second made a twelve-stringed bipolar instrument
James would not wish the third to handle his flute.Last edited by Flay; 19-02-12, 12:05. Reason: Clarified "first names" - don't want to be here all day, sun shining...Pacta sunt servanda !!!
