    Looks like T time folks!

      A T to connect
      - a symphonic poem
      - a madrigalist’s muse
      - a less satanic violin sonata

cloughie's really got the AA bug!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Not only the bug but the bit between his teeth, too!

Tasso, indeed. Well done, Cloughie. You may need to explain the references for the benefit of les autres...

Early enthusiasm, and not much on telly!

1 Liszt Tasso (there was a great LP of this with Solti and the Orchestre de Paris)
              2 Torquato Tasso
3 Tartini: Le Sonate del Tasso

I've got to say as well as been fun to do, this game is also damned educational.

Sorry to disappoint any insomniacs but the Uturn will have to await the morrow. If that's against the rules (what rules he said) then anyone wishing to set an alternative - feel free to do so.

Sorry for the delay U 's not that easy is it? I guess there are times to hold back and dodge the chalice!

                    The U link is

                    1. A short orchestral work which has been played a time or two on Breakfast.
                    2. Short 'Rock Opera' which appeared on an album by a top British band in the 70s.
                    3. The initials of an American educational institution.

Is the orchestral work also familiar as a piano piece?

Indeed it is, and despite its title, in my view, a beautiful work in both forms (more a comment than a clue!)

                                Then I suggest:

Pavane pour une Infanta Defuncte - Ravel
Une Nuit en Paris - 10CC
UNE - the University of New England.

                                - and agree with your comment on the Ravel.
