[There's a good NYTimes review if you google her, but I can't get the link to work here]

What an extraordinary life! I must see if there's a biography - evidently she wouldn't have had time for an autobiography

Is the author any rello of the lamented Baillie Vass, the former PM I wonder?

Hello all, have emerged after yesterday's 11 hour ( ) meeting. Not with the Mafia, vinsanto...

Violet has figured in this thread before, in the early days, I think - I recall boggling at the ménage and recalling that clavichordist now seems like a euphemism.

I need to look back and see what letter we're supposed to be aiming at... it's not clear from the last few posts

What was the Dennis - football link, ammy? And who the hell is Baillie Vass?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

that was anton, Calibs - I mentioned Violet and anton came back as quick as u like with Dennis - Dennis Viollet, a footballer, one of the Busby Babes innit - did he perish in Munich?

Baillie Vass is Private Eye's other name for Sir Alec Douglas-Home, former PM

Do I get any points for these tutorials?
