How about for starters (but I cannot see where it is going yet):

<< Irving Berlin never learned to play in more than one key and used a custom-made 1940 Weser Brothers piano with a transposing lever to change keys >>
    Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Yes and I too like Sir Andrew Aguecheek... I'm orff into the country for Sherlock Holmes and venison stew, so someone should scoop the Q which looks to be there for the taking thanks to Flay, and set a New Year's R

So a last greeting for 2011 to AAites and warmest wishes for a quizzical and stimulating, happy and healthy new year!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

But you could mention his tuning slide.

In the spirit of my New Year resolution - is the answer to the current question 'Quantz', and, if so, has anybody officially answered it yet?

The answers to your questions are "yes" and "no" respectively.

Can you roll us into the new year with an 'R'?

                                Which 'R' links:
                                (a) The beginning of a third Act
                                (b) A song from a 1965 album
                                (c) An orchestral piece dropped twice in 4 years
                                (d) Composers born in Salzburg, Bradford and Cambridge?
