Starting well, but veering off at the end. Remember my point that in your #11214 one of the 'in's should be a 'with'.

Ooh that's a good idea ferney!

A propos, for the Haendel fans on these boards, here is a pic of Ida with a friend of mine (Lara St John) earlier this month... Ida's in heels, apparently!!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

            How about Imogen Cooper?
<< In the 2010/11 season Imogen Cooper’s performances include the Philadelphia and Royal Scottish National Orchestras. She will also join the Takacs Quartet for performances of Schubert’s Trout Quintet in London, Spain and Germany. During 2011, Imogen Cooper will perform in three concerts as part of the Mozart Unwrapped series at Kings Place in London.>>

<<Imogen Cooper and Friends .... "More Schubert in the B flat Piano Trio in which Cooper is joined, in a buoyantly rhythmic performance, by Raphael Oleg and the cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton" >>

And the rest. She does it all.....

Not quite "all", Flay: she doesn't play violin (or 'cello) in a String Quartet.

Spot on, fhg! I think you deserved it, as well, since you pretty much interpreted the right scenario from early on.

Perhaps it was a bit harder than I thought, though I suspect female answers might have not come so easily to mind. (The two 'obvious respects', queried by mercia, were of course being violinists and ladies.)

I really thought, once you had mentioned 'Piano Trio', the BAT would leap into people's minds and someone would google their various personnel and quickly find the I.

                  Over to you for J.

                    A J to connect:

                    Arne's topless heroine.
                    Ella Nemethy.
A former member of the BBC Singers whose work is beyond redemption.
