How terribly spooky! Again! My fridge is on the blink, yesterday I discovered the thermostat must have gone awry as the sweet little chantonney carrots I took off the top shelf were frozen! So I've put newspaper in the drip tray to absorb the cold (being of a scientific nature I know cold travels downwards so I thought I would trap it and I think, when I checked this morning, it's worked)

Actually it was a "3 bird" ready-stuffed combination from Marks but I was too lazy to explain that. We had missed the local farm shop ordering (did not want the 20lb monster they offered) so had decided to try it instead (there is only so much the dogs can eat when we are all pooped after the usual turkey...) The plan was to freeze it then defrost it later. So it has gone in the freezer (it seemed to smell OK) but I am losing my appetite. It might be we have a frozen bird after all.

So I may need those chestnuts that I planned to roast and munch tonight for the stuffing after all

Sorry Flay, is this a turkey stuffed with a duck and a pigeon or a partridge? How does this work, because duck, obviously, has to be served in the pink, as does pigeon. Does it not all meld into some sort of mass?
