I dunno Anna, one minute it's big meaty sausages, the next it's Bond villains - I think you need a cold shower
I'm totally baffled by these clues, but there's nowt new in that

No mention of birth places there, issit?
However, wiki tells me that Mr Gotell was born in .... Bonn
Yes Bonn, très bon! So one composer of a violin concerto lived there, and another was actually b-b-b-b-b-b-born there, like Mr Gotellitonthemountain
Come on Ammy, you can do it!!!! Or Anna! Or fhg!"...the isle is full of noises,

(For a change) I'm not confused by the question or the answer*.
Beethoven was born in Bonn and wrote a violin concerto
Schumann likewise.
Walter Gotell was born in Bonn and didn't write a violin concerto.
(*Not that qualifies me to set the next question).

Norfy's got it now: LvB we born in Bonn but Robert Schumann merely lived there I think? Were you thinking of someone else?"...the isle is full of noises,

Do you think Ammy should set the question as a reward for chipping away and nearly getting there?"...the isle is full of noises,

Actually, it looks as if I didn't get it quite right. Schumann was born in Zwickau, but lived in Bonn. But I still think I understood what Rumpole was getting at.
And, yes, I think our ami Ammy should get us all at C.
