Don't see how this connects with B or composers of Violin Concertos.

He played Charlie Barlow's boss in Softly, Softly Task Force, iirc.

James Baldwin didn't mention his strange hands in his book "Go Tell It On The Mountain"
        Awfully droll, Ammy old thing!

        Where was Walter b-b-b-b-b-b-b-born????

          @ Mr Big

I dunno Anna, one minute it's big meaty sausages, the next it's Bond villains - I think you need a cold shower

I'm totally baffled by these clues, but there's nowt new in that

See #10650 and what you laughingly refer to as a 'clue', Calibration

No mention of birth places there, issit?

However, wiki tells me that Mr Gotell was born in .... Bonn

It was a clue, not a total giveaway!!!!

Yes Bonn, très bon! So one composer of a violin concerto lived there, and another was actually b-b-b-b-b-b-born there, like Mr Gotellitonthemountain

Come on Ammy, you can do it!!!! Or Anna! Or fhg!

Are you sure that you do not want two composers, each of a single violin concerto, who were born in Bonn?

Robert Schumann war in Bonn geboren, nicht wahr?

(For a change) I'm not confused by the question or the answer*.
Beethoven was born in Bonn and wrote a violin concerto
                      Schumann likewise.
Walter Gotell was born in Bonn and didn't write a violin concerto.
(*Not that qualifies me to set the next question).

                        I think I'm sure...
Norfy's got it now: LvB we born in Bonn but Robert Schumann merely lived there I think? Were you thinking of someone else?

                          Spot on Norfs!

Do you think Ammy should set the question as a reward for chipping away and nearly getting there?

Actually, it looks as if I didn't get it quite right. Schumann was born in Zwickau, but lived in Bonn. But I still think I understood what Rumpole was getting at.
And, yes, I think our ami Ammy should get us all at C.

Ah yes, you weren't quite spot on - see my 10662. Wonder who sub and Anna were thinking of...

C'mon Amster: come up and C us sometime

Schumann died in Bonn. Ferdinand Ries (see http://www.classicalconnect.com/composer/Ferdinand-Ries) was born in Bonn, and appears, like Beethoven, to have written only one Violin Concerto.
