Ouch - my head hurts. Any chance of a clue please, if it isn't "Vocalise" (well spotted, Caliban)?

      Village?

Binchois is named after a village
Tournemire is the name of a village
      Ducasse is a village festival
Gaubert is the name of a village

... not village, but do by all means think of location - there is something they have in common...

Flay gets it! - yes, the vineyards of burgundy, bordeaux, cahors...

Not a very good puzzle this time, sorry (and I shd certainly have used Three Choirs as a clue )

              So many thanks, Flay

              - and over to you for a W ( - tho' I think at this stage of the alphabet we're allowed to jump over W X Y Z if inspiration flags...

Nooooooo, I was just making a suggestion before walking the dogs (soaking, freezing, miserable & muddy). I thought Château Larcis Ducasse etc could be the answer, but I did not dare to give it as I have to get to work, I won't have the time.

Well, Vinteuil, I nominate you to do the next one as you fiddled the last one with your outlandish use of French in the answer. Well?

                  I'm furious I didn't get that one, vindepays !!!

Are those four names the names of actual individual vinyards then?

I'm bound to say I think Flay ought to do the next, on account of his tremendous insight in getting right to the point, but if Vinteuil wanted to do another for dabbling in yer akshul French, ça ne serait pas plus mal...

                    All right, I'll do it!

Which W organised a temporary job which lasted 63 years?

Are the usual 3+ elements of the AA question compacted into that pithy phrase, or is this a one-shot question? Is it / are they musical?

Just a single word answer: one person. No time to be smarter. I've already said that the person was musical...

Really? Can't see that anywhere... Maybe a forum malfunction....

You have a most organised mind, Mr F, and I'm starting to find the key to it, by pulling out all the stops...

I think we are taking about ORGAN(geddit????)ist C-M Widor who was given a 'temporary' appointment at St Sulpice in Paris and stayed 63 years as organist.

                              That was fun!

Well done! I thought we should have a W that sounded like a V as we had a V that was really a W in the last round
