My mind boggled at the thought of a schizophrenic S&K pie. Sorry, I think my set of P "clues" were a little too obscure this time. But we got there in the end.
But as mercia asks, what was the morbidly/cheerfully aspect?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Wasn't it Buddy Holly (also [nearly] Seasonal?) and the others who died in the 'plane crash of 2/2/59? ("The day the Music died").
AH! Good point! Well I was way outside my comfort zone with that question, so I'll just shut up and eat another mince pie.

Q
a one-off James Bond character, an 1890 theatrical disagreement and an early 1750's Parisian operatic battle
I almost did!!!
Quarrel!
Damn... 4 minutes! I was trying to beat the 3 minute answer the other day
"...the isle is full of noises,

I just know that Quarrel is the boatman in the Bond book/film set in the Caribbean (Thunderball? I always get confused, can't be bothered to google!!) and it means disagreement and also fits the battle clue in general terms...
OK I've stopped being lazy
La Querelle des Bouffons was the theatrical / operatic disagreement (otherwise called La Guerre des Bouffons - the 'battle' reference) in the 1750s about whether French or Italian opera was best.
Not sure bout the 1890 thing though...
