I got her confused with Kerry Packer. An understandable mistake.
Nurse! The Fernet Branca for Miss Anna!!!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
I will ignore that. (Wot's a Fernet Branca, some poncey stuff for Londoners with an hangover? ) I can only think of Jack Pudding. Not a lot of you will have heard of it. So, us in the Provinces, can hold our heads high by being more obscure than you metrosexuals!
I sometimes wonder whether caliban wasn't the original inspiration for Rumpole of the Bailey, such are the wit and erudition of his contributions.
Gosh! You're scaring me now, as I seemed to scare Flay.... ! But thank you, Norfolk
Anna seems to have nailed this one... (Oh pur-leeeze!!! )

I'm eating humble pie. But I need to know how you got to the answer.
No, I only got part of the answer. I have not solved anything else. It was just that you said you were hungry and - voila - a pie came to mind! I leave it to others to solve the puzzle.
Edit: I was more pleased with me Henze post, I think that shows obscurity and, somehow, a certain, je ne sais quois in confounding people.
Forgive me! it was your use of 'morbidly' which (combined with pieces and slices and sweet and time of the year) made me think of Panettone - I was with a young Italian lady last night, and talking about that very word 'morbidly' and how different the English meaning is.... because 'morbido' means 'soft', 'fluffy' in Italian - as of moist cakes and pastries.... such as the best, moist, succulent panettone...
But it obviously wasn't the answer! Just getting carried away, really!

But you did mention a certain seasonal delicious pie.....
*DOH DOH DOH DOH DOH*so I did! That was just a bit of reportage as I had just scoffed one!
So Mince Pie is no. 4?! GOT YA! (at last)
However I am now offline for God knows how long as I am off to my departmental Xmas dinner / party in a sawdust-floored dive somewhere off Cheapside. I intend to leave after the meal but one never knows...
