sadly no but if we expanded Kern to Showboat or is it Show Boat? - I'm never sure which! And the English Lady is the widow of a Lord......

Anna Petrovna Kern was Pushkin's mistress. Just thought I'd chuck that in. Bit of trivia!

... is the Switzerland a land full of the Sound of Music, and is Oz not Australia but rather a far from Kansas land peopled by Wizards?

(if so, I refuse to answer - on aesthetic grounds )

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.

This forum should not dwell on Facebook FF could be watching! The Facebook Song by the Australian Voices was composed by Gordon Hamilton of Bribane Queensland.

Wiki "calls" Cleo Laine - Dame Cleo Laine, Lady Dankworth DBE but it has been wrong before and will be again.........

Mercia it has to be U or if you would prefer R.

No it's me showing my proletarian roots - so the wife of a Sir is a Lady? Isn't the aristocracy puzzling?

                            I guess I didn't explain my Q answers properly, did I.
Diana Doherty from Queensland went from being Principal Oboe in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra to the same post in the Sydney Symphony.
and Wilma Reading, also from Queensland, replaced Cleo Laine (Lady Dankworth) in a production of Kern's Show Boat.
                            so Q = Queensland

a further clue to my R composer
his style of composition was theorised by Peggy Seeger's father

                              Malvina Reynolds (little boxes chords)?
There seem to be quite a few composers called Reynolds.

not Malvina or any other Reynolds, I fear

dissonant counterpoint is the theory I was referring to
