... would it help if I said that he was a main character in 1688 and 1785, but that the person who shares his name is only a relatively minor character in a much larger work in 1868?

Very envious of anton, Barcelona is on my never visited wish list, I haven't been anywhere more exotic than Barnard Castle and Brighton this year. My favourite city break is Florence although I agree with Dave about Lille and also, Rouen.

Brighton I can take or leave but Barnard castle is wonderful! If I may come back to the tangent tonight Lady Gould and I have returned to the Rossini and much to Lady G's displeasure I raised with our waiter the Verdi as Rossini question - his face said it all not another UK Radio 3 person! His explanation -" who looks more like a composer that would appreciate a good meal"? Slightly nonplussed by this I adjourned as one would to the Gents only to find another Wiki picture of Verdi The second of him baton in hand! All very strange is this what RW and the marketeers would do? Would FF approve?

Brighton I can take or leave but Barnard castle is wonderful!

My sister has lived in Barnard Castle for quite some time (husband GlaxoSmithKline), it is a lovely town and I'd recommend it to anyone, I go there frequently, wonderful walks and scenery and people so friendly. My eldest brother lives in Brighton, hence trips there but it's a fun place, gay capital of the South!
