I'm going to arrogantly assume I'm right with Oedipus and set a P

    P

a pianist, a Californian viticulturist, the subject of a music hall song, his heart is buried in a Pennsylvanian sculpture and Elgar used a theme from one of his works, charitably

    all one man

No arrogance at all - spot on as always.
No Fenwicks after all the Gould ladies went elsewhere and I was left to dig the garden!
I, foolishly thought of Otley, for the O and a thesp. from there played Liszt to Hughie's Frederic!
A few jobs from the list Lady G has left then time for a P. Thankfully not a Chopin Liszt!

I'd always thought of JS as a posh southerner somehow

Not being able to spell him I shall go and get Lady G's newspaper and by the time I have ironed it someone may hopefully have formed a Q!

Amazing life and IMHO pretty amazing mercia teaser! Jan Ignacy Paderewski - do you want to tell these little bits of his story or should I?
As Caliban said, or was it his drinking chum? No wiser but much better informed!

it's probably my duty, but I'm feeling rather lazy, so here's the link to where I cribbed it all from

                          don't feel there's a hurry for Q, R or whatever
                          I don't think anyone's playing

How very dare you? I'm struggling away here as usual - silence does not denote non-participation
