      'fraid not (who are they?)

my 1924-born was a violinist, the 1952 and 1954-born his children - male violinist/conductor, daughter pianist
his wife (a violinist, born 1919) was the sister of a famous pianist (born 1916), surname beginning G
      all Russian
I think there's a third generation of musicians too, but I won't complicate matters

Cheers mercia and hard luck Anton!

As usual nothing cryptic here ...

              What L

Played a piano concerto at a concert conducted by the son of an Austrian wunderkind?

Shared a composition tutor with an Austrian symphonist?

Taught the teacher of one of Britain’s foremost pianists?

              All elements are musical

Great shot, Beefy! Big six straight into the pavilion!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

well, rightly or wrongly, of my Austrian symphonists I have so far eliminated Mahler and Bruckner (do we call Mahler Austrian?)
                    plenty more to go ........................
