Jim Morrison, who recorded Weill's 1927 song with The Doors in 1967, lies (as far as we know) in Père Lachaise Cemetery.
Stars Fell on Alabama, written in 1934, is said to have been inspired by a spectacular display by the Leonids meteor shower in 1833.
Alabama was featured on Neil Young's album Harvest.
Lynyrd Skynrd reportedly took objection to this and another Neil Young song and recorded Sweet Home Alabama in response.

not Bruce I'm afraid but it is a name of the surname variety. Clues think presentation with Loose Ends and premiere, of a sort, for Elektra!

Ned Sherrin who used to present Radio 4's Loose Ends wrote a play about Thomas Beecham
Thomas Beecham conducted the UK premiere of Strauss's Elektra and conducted the RPO on the soundtrack of the film Tales of Hoffmann
