Good Lord, you're right - 'bated' as in 'abated'... I don't know that I've ever used that phrase in writing before - I lazily assumed it was 'baited' i.e. prepared, eager for a bite.. But 'bated' makes more sense, for shallow, tense breathing.

I'm sure that (unlike my substantive error), your " i'ts " was a mere typo...

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

          Here we go - Here's your O!

What early songster emerges once a conservatory feline is chased by noisy mischief-makers?

Damn! Didn't think you'd seen that before I fixed it. The biter bit, indeed!

                Guilty as charged, as well.

(I was just copying 'im, 'onest, Guv.)

DOH! Whoops... Serves me right for being too busy correcting others.

Time to move on, I think!!!

I am still smarting from your (possibly defamatory) suggestion that I spend my time pleasuring myself with Edward German and Arthur Sullivan, so let's just call it quits

Well, seeing that what you might get up to with Aribert defies even my imagination ... ok then...

Come, now, you two. We've all been to some dodgy G & S evenings in our youth?

My dad used to direct them Sitting through rehearsals of Ruddigore and Princess Ida features among my earliest musical memories! Quite good pieces, acually...

                            We digress. ".. conservatory feline... " ???

No, afraid not. I'm going out for a meal with some friends shortly. When I return I shall probably be mellow enough to give some slight clue, should it be required.
