I'm afraid I wouldn't know a Paul Simon classic from a Paul Simon non-classic so I shall retire now

I've just dropped in and can't work out where we are on this, however I think Michael Nyman was the pianist on the Portsmouth Sinfonia's recording of Bridge Over Troubled Water - so another Michael?

Having almost succeeded in grinding the AA to a halt - I shall give the 3rd answer - Judge Stephen S Trott who as a youth was a member of the Highwaymen who got to No.1 with Michael (row the Boat ashore). I shall now slink off and impersonate a dead yowe - I would say Mercia who got from yowe to Tippett should possibly rise to the N.
