Awesome 3, superbly, out of 3.

Do you wish for a try on the GGs?

No hassle with that one, rubbernecker. A beautifully set out poser. GIve me time and I shall be back with a G.

What G, hen-pecked by his wife and mother-in-law,

apparently had no desire to drink either mild beer or lager,
made brilliant keyboard re-arrangements of another’s work on the wife of an English ecclesiastical separatist and serial womaniser,
wrote a major flat-keyed petticoat dance for piano

Sorry, none of the clues begin with G

Element 2 sounds to be something to do with Henry VIII... but I can get no further other than the impressionistic guess that the G is Percy Grainger...

He had a complex and somewhat masochistic relationship with the ladies it seems .... and the flavour of dances and English historical tradition in the clues has a Graingerish feel...

That's all I have to offer on this sunny morning
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Hi Caliban, you are on the right line with Element 2 but Grainger, no.

I'm afraid it's eluding me, somewhat frustratingly as I'm sure it's a witty conundrum. Is it to do with one of his compositions?

I'm afraid all I can offer by way of light relief is this - a timely intervention perhaps?

I think that could well be the correct answer! I feel you certainly deserve the H

Rubberknockers, you really are the most appalling swot.

The beer connection is one of his compositions, from 1827. It is not the wall-clock - which I am sure Mercia would not have in his house!

You are looking for the English title, I hope. I cannot cope with the Cyrillic alphabet, yet.

                              Best wishes from АНГЛЕ

                                Thank you, Cyril.

"Bitter, Bitter it is for Me" A song with words by Rimsky-Korsakov, no less.

And now I suspect an H it is for me?
