well done to mercia for his solving of the J, hope you are now fully recovered from your not feeling well yesterday?

I think this thread will get very quiet, what with Easter, holidays and compulsory Church from Weds thru Sunday, what on earth will Queen Catherine wear (the Daily Maul is on the case so it must be right!) and sundry distractions, plus Taps is away for a fortnight!

Edit: the only annoying thing about this MB is that it never tells you if someone has posted before you hit that send button

I hate being beaten by 3 minutes! Got it immediately on U199, but needed to check the others. :(

at the risk of rubbers doing his head in, it is yet again his turn to set a question

Well, if he were not so quick to respond, he would not have to set the questions! Serves him right for being such a swot!

That typo could actually be very clever, Anna. In a pillar of salty kind of way!

We'll assume you meant it, shall we, and then we'll respect and adore you even more...

Edit: I meant the original typo, not the one that you made when you attempted to correct it!

Not really, mercia, but I happened to recall the name of that particular Captain for reasons that are too convoluted to go into!

The U-199 was an easy prize for the patrolling search engines of the SWOT team...

Simon, in the spirit of entente cordiale and all that, may I offer you L?

Well, you may respect me and adore me as much as you like. I don't mind that. All gentlemen that offer favours are welcome! You mean my typo, which of course would refer to Lot's wife (Genesis but not Phil Collins of course)

I don't think we have had mention of Swot here since we discussed St. Custards and The Gorilla of the Third Remove and Fotherington-Thomas?

Go on Simes, give us L

I've just been looking up to see where the phrase "There'll be a welcome in the valleys" comes from, without success... Anyway, I think we know the answer Anna! (A long exhalation of steam was heard in the engine shed....)

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
