And pasta? - what kind of movies was he most famous for???

The Chi Mai tune (for which EM is perhaps most famous) was written for the 1971 film Maddalena, about a troubled priest and the woman who loves him - but in Britain it became well-known when it was used for the theme music for the telly programme the Life of Lloyd George. (in France it was used for the film le Professionel - and in many advertisements... ).

EM best known for the music for many spaghetti westerns by Sergio Leone and others ( The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; A Fistful of Dollars, Once upon a Time in the West, etc.)

You know my final thought about this last night was Fancy Free - but I couldn't find any link with the others. I have no idea what your 'rat' suggestion is about!! But you're on to something with the cakes - I think they're actually called "French Fancies" aren't they? Because they occasionally appeared at home and in my sophisticated "I live in Paris" way I thought they sounded like... - how can I put this delicately? - ... well, you know...

Fancy Rats are domesticated brown rats (also Rattus Norvegicus was a Stranglers album but nothing to do with this) I wonder if French Fancies are now renamed Fondant Fancies? Good puzzle I thought.
