Also to pick up mercia's point (although his post, which I saw at some point last night, now seems to have disappeared ), why was green particularly associated with Satie? As that is what 'viridescent' means... Am I missing a link here (apart from the general 'colourful' point rubbers makes)?

Anna was in Liverpool yesterday and I doubt if she could have had better weather. I hope she was pleasantly surprised by all that she saw and experienced. We shall know soon.

Well I haven't seen the advert but Good Lord is that song theirs? I know it very well indeed, as it is the main song in the soundtrack of one of my favourite films of recent years, "Juno", watched 4 or 5 times. (Anyone who hasn't seen it and wants 2 hours of high quality pleasure: do watch it!). It is indeed very catchy. I had no idea that's what Velvet Underground sounded like - I assumed it was altogether more dark and sleazy.

As our French cousins say (but in French): I shall go to bed tonight less stupid. (I often think that about the AA thread )

I'm sticking with You is one of their lighter tracks, Caliban, and a rare vocal for Ms Tucker. You will be pleased to hear that much of their output IS dark and sleazy. You would definitely know Venus in Furs I imagine - often used to accompany adverts, documentaries etc.
