A quick U linking a happy pair, holy beams and the heavenly host
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Touché, o nocturnal one... perhaps I was indeed using "quick" in the gouldian sense .... although I did wonder if some deft googling might create an opportunity for completion!

So are we saying the answer is Uncle?

If so my coleslaw will have to be easily the poorest ever i.e. I put the 3 elements into Google and when I got past the adverts the page was awash with Uncle Joe?

No.... look into the Creation more deeply. Who are the participants?

So what might the three references be?

                    ......

Shall I dish up so anton can moVe on?

Among Uriel's recitatives/arias in The Creation are:

a happy pair - No. 33. O glücklich Paar, und glücklich immerfort (O happy pair, and ever happy henceforth)

holy beams - No. 2. Nun schwanden vor dem heiligen Strahle (Now vanished by the holy beams)

the heavenly host - No. 9. Und die himmlischen Heerscharen verkündigten (And the Heavenly host proclaimed the third day)

Fair dos. (? "Fair does"? "Fair do's"??? "Fair di"?!)

                        How about:

A V to link Semiramide, Dido, and Artaserse (but not, disappointingly, La Gioconda).

... and I usually use it - I got into the habit when I wanted to annoy Miss Kirkstall, my English Teacher; a Cambridge graduate (ours was a charity school) - but lapsed here.

"Dido, Artaserse, and Semiramide." (The order of the names isn't significant.)
