Well - I'm not really making any headway, apart from a composer contemporary of Shakespeare's who shares his name with a Blues guitarist who sold his soul to the devil. The Tempest fits, but the "encounter" and "few notes opera" has me baffled.

Four notes is correct. One composer - contemporary. The Encounters are fairly recent too.
