Perhaps the 'tripartite' bit refers to a device which produces three reflected images within a cylinder or a tube of some sort. There is certainly a ballet company with the name but I cannot make another other connections. Unfortunately, as far as the solution is concerned, I am away to France in the morning and shall not be able to participate further.

I've been chewing this one over today too, without success. But I think there may be more of a chance now.
Don't lose heart and spill it all yet, Ed!
(mind you gentle hints will be welcome)Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Sorry, Anton, Hog and all his cuts are irrelevant.
Debussy's Images is an analogue but not a model for my tableaux.
Kirov has had a chequered history (does it exist today in Russia, or only when abroad?), but neither Kirov nor R&J appear in my answer.
Small pointer: all the composers that are linked in the clues came from one nation.

so K could be
- the country of origin of the three composers (unlikely)
- the shared surname of the three composers (unlikely)
- the shared forename of the three composers (possibly)
- the shared birthplace town or city of the three composers (possibly)
are the composer and his wife the Messiaens or the Strausses ? is the Shakespeare A Midsummer Night's Dream ?
I've been looking for works in three tableaux and so far have found Gerhard's ballet Soirées de Barcelone and Granados's opera Goyescas
