Perhaps the 'tripartite' bit refers to a device which produces three reflected images within a cylinder or a tube of some sort. There is certainly a ballet company with the name but I cannot make another other connections. Unfortunately, as far as the solution is concerned, I am away to France in the morning and shall not be able to participate further.

- the shared surname of the three composers (unlikely)
- the shared forename of the three composers (possibly)
- the shared birthplace town or city of the three composers (possibly)
are the composer and his wife the Messiaens or the Strausses ? is the Shakespeare A Midsummer Night's Dream ?
I've been looking for works in three tableaux and so far have found Gerhard's ballet Soirées de Barcelone and Granados's opera Goyescas
