Sarasate is recorded as having admired the Ruby Strad and coincidentally Quint won the 1997 Pablo de Sarasate International Violin Competition

Tartini wrote the Devil's Trill sonata but I'm not getting any links here.

Back online, I dozily can't work out what the N was - might it be explained patiently for those at the back of the class?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I think it's Ninth (Coleslaw wasn't provided) - Beethoven's Ninth Piano Trio, Couperin's Ninth Book for the Clavecin ... and the other Ninth thingy.
