vaguely wondered if this was three people named Nicolas, but N is probably not a name at all - wikipedia says Johannes Martini was chorally innovatory which hasn't helped - is that a set of variations ? - was the Russian in enforced exile ?

Well Nikolay Lvov published the tune Glory to the sun used in Beethoven op 59 but I thought we weren't looking for nicolas/nicolay/nikolay ?
