Four works by different composers - one common French link.

                          Nothing to do with Alkan.

                          Two Finnish, Two French composers.

En Saga - a story and Finnish too ? - I doubt there are four works called En - although en could be a French word (but isn't in this instance)

unusual, I would think, to have two Finnish composers writing works with French titles ?

Echo looks very good - I wish I understood what "probably jodhpurs" means

My sentiments exactly mercia - tendency in Scandinavia ( & OK we all include Finland though technically it isn't) is towards texts in original language or German or generic Italian (tempo & etc).

Another contender is Elegie - can come up with Sibelius and umpteen French (Faure for starters) & another Fin to be found - alas not Saariaho for she wrote an English Elegy
