Surname. "Cuts a figure" from the original question is a clue - pertinent to the second one - who gave their name to a composition.

                Yes!

So.... it's a pianist, an artist as inspiration for a composition and a composer that have the same surname. The artist is the most famous. I'm sure this will help.

I was hoping it might be Gormley but no
the composition to which the sculptor lends his name is a "cyclus" ? - is that a posh word for cycle or suite or set of variations, for example ?
does the composer come from Brescia or are they Brescia landscapes ? does that make the composer Italian ?

EDIT - looks like am51 has it

yes, but not all the details...........the cyclus called after Giacometti is "Giacometti cyclus" by a Dutch composer Piet- Jan van Rossum and the piece by Antonio Giacometti is called "Syncretic Landscapes" Well done Ams51 - Champions Trophy rained out, I would have waited until the Ashes Hasta la vista!
