Edison Denisov completed Debussy's Rodrigue et Chimene and Schubert's Lazarus and wrote DSCH for clarinet, trombone, cello and piano

I don't remember his previous appearance, hope it wasn't one of my questions

Denisov also wrote Confession (Исповедь), a ballet in three acts after Alfred de Musset

In addition, Denisov wrote Three Pictures after Paul Klee for viola, oboe, horn, piano, vibraphone and double bass

Furthermore, Denisov completed Debussy's opera Rodrigue et Chimène

Not to be outdone, Denisov completed Schubert's opera-oratorio Lazarus oder Die Feier der Auferstehung (Лазарь и торжество Воскрешения) D689

And finally, Denisov wrote Femme et oiseaux (The Woman and the Birds) homage to Joan Miró for piano, string quartet and woodwind quartet

......and this was the, as always from ams, perfect answer.....

I suspect ammy may have the same reaction as me: sheer panic that I have no recollection AT ALL of that question and answer... not only did I not recall it in general, but on reading my question and the answer, I STILL have no recollection !!!

Had you mentioned Rodrigue et Chimène and Lazarus oder Die Feier der Auferstehung to me, you would have had a blank look, I would have had no memory that they were by Debussy and Schubert !

            I'm now officially scared

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Scandalissimo! Puccini's sex life exposed (apparently)

The private life of Giacomo Puccini was famously as colourful as his operas, but only now has the truth emerged about the scandal that almost undid him. It's an extraordinary tale of infidelity, jealousy and vengeance that continues to haunt the lives of his descendants to this day

                      Pacta sunt servanda !!!
