An heN to link Martha Argerich, Maurice Ravel and Joseph Szigeti
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Nikita Magaloff was a friend of Ravel who much admired his pianism; was a teacher of Martha Argerich; and was married to the daughter of Joseph Szigeti?

I terribly sorry.... I have a houseful this weekend, and they gambolled off for an evening out, leaving me to listen to the EMS on Notre-Dame... I've now tried twice and each time the music has sent me to sleep - in the best possible way. I find all that Léonin and Pérotin lulls me into immediate slumber. How did they manage to stay upright at 4am Matins?! Too bloody cold to nod off I guess
I digress. Ammy have a with a chaser followed by a round of
Bullseye
O it must be you-hoooo

What O studied with Weber; carries the flame for one the century's finest pianists who made and played his own transcriptions of works by JS Bach; and promoted the work of the founder of the nocturne?

Not very far on this. The founder of the nocturne would be John Field I assume. Muzio Clementi, an accomplished pianist and also made and played transcriptions of JS Bach, published some of his work but not an O in sight!
Weber (Carl Maria von?) didn't live very long so wondering whether it's a composer or conductor or instrumentalist who studied with him.... but too early for a clue I reckon!

Good work, hodge in spotting John Field rather than Chopin So who promoted him for our ears?
