well I guess "do you hear out there" is Voice in the Wilderness, a symphonic poem. Bloch wrote two concerti grossi [says wikipedia], no idea who the second composer is, or which of Bloch's various suites might be "stickier"

Voice is correct as are the two CGs. The other clue relates to a work by a chip off another, percussive Bloch.

Andre Bloch? Or Robert 'Sweets to the Sweet' Robert Bloch?

Neither I'm afraid - the Bloch on the card was a champion of a percussion instrument used by Messiaen.

That's the one. Great title for a work!

Who's C is it? - mercs I think for his Ernest contributions.

C, a composer, with works named after

a sea, a Russian city (1924-1991), Arabic melodic modes

well without googling the 2nd and third works should have St Petersburg and maqam (or alternative spelling) in the titles. Don't know the composer off the top of my head, but I'll have a little think....

Speaking of which: this composer's name is always (or most usually) spelled with a C, or sometimes also with a K?

(just trying to think of composers that would have maqams & Leningrad - Azerbajan? )

possibly, but in this case the "George Cross" island [if that means anything to you]
