Looks like me, then. Just as well I am up early today:)

    What W is associated with

a local, a forest and the future

And if that is not done within the hour, I shall ask Calib to eat his hat.

Not much to hang one's hat on there... Presuming a musical connection, my first thought I imagine is off-beam: future = things to come = Wells ... can't find other connections there either...

I don't know if local means pub

the only musical pub that springs to mind is The Paradise Garden ............... which involves a WALK

          ????

Good thought .... I only learnt that the other day, here on a thread castigating a morning R3 announcer for thinking it was (a) about something horticultural and (b) by Bax...

The one I think of is the Boar Inn in Grimes... no Ws there though.

              This made me laugh:

... I was wondering if we shd be thinking of Haydn's ganz passabel 'Windsor Castle' overture, and the Windsor forest in 'Falstaff'?

Jankowski gets you one of the three points, Mercia

By the way, the W is not itself musical but the elements are.

Walk is the key word, Mercia but your example is not one of the elements.

To get things moving : what is a local ?

The future refers to the land of dreams in lyrics well-known in the parlours of yesteryear.

I'll walk beside you through the world tonight
Beneath the starry skies ablaze with light
And in your heart loves's tender words I'll hide

I'll walk beside you through the passing years
Through days of cloud and sunshine, joy and tears
And when the great call comes, though sunset gleams

                              ????????

I think you have the lot, Mercia, so it is over to you for an X, Y , Z or A.

It took much longer than I thought it would. What happened to Caliban's hat ?
