Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

To quote from King Crimson's song 'I talk to the wind'

Said the straight man to the late man, Where have you been? I've been here and I've been there and I've been in between.

Not that I'm particularly religious but I've just had a Lenten break from the board.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, guys.

Hedgehog posed: The 4th mvt of a clarinet concerto by a Fin, a toccata by a Brazilian and just a memory from the tropics for a Puerto Rican - what is the U? and everyone's stumbling around in the dark and suddenly - Up pops Cloughie with Upshaw!!

Not really, I cannot connect Ms. Dawn Upshaw with any of the elements ...... I await cloughie's return and his solution with great interest! As do we all.

Gosh! Here you all are! This is not an easy question because, bar the Brazilian, who is not Villa-Lobos, they are not very well known composers & the Brazillian isn't that well known either, though I've heard of him. All I can say is that there is nothing pastoral about these works.

I could make it into a quartet by adding a Swede with solos and sounds of a U type. He's not very well known either (I do know him however). They are all alive, which is possibly a reason why they are not very well known, the music profession being what it is for composers.

As in U-Bends? Should I be flushed? I give up, I've been up to Uppsala and down to Brazilila, and still no further forward I'll look in a lot later ........

                            Good afternoon H

                            Is the U a forename?

I repeat - nothing pastoral about the music.

                              Good afternoon Cloughie!

Alas no it's not a forename. It's a word in the title.

Ah! You get a different Klas of composer in Sweden.

Could be, 'tho'? Particularly popular with popes?
