Only with what Wikipedia says - she was his favourite soprano and premiered 4(?) of his operas presumably with Countesses and daughters of counts? She can be seen on You Tube singing War Sehr but I have no German! Far from good enough in my view - in fact not V Good!

Yes, well chipped away Herr Gould.

In particular I was thinking of her singing at the respective premières of the title character in "Arabella" (Arabella is the daughter of Count Waldner) and of the Countess in "Capriccio" (that unbelievably gorgeous final scene!)

Oh, and Richard S referred to her as "the most true of the true" ("die treueste aller Treuen")

Well done anton, great work on your part. I did look at it this morning and decided I hadn't a clue (generally anything about opera renders me clueless although, I must say I did enjoy Anna Nicole last night although, that's not really opera is it?)
