Probably a blind alley (especially with the "French dictionary" nudge, but the only S connected with the Double Bass that I know is Stefano Scodanibbio:

                    Les Forains (1945) ballet.

I am now going to disappear from AA for a while. I am retiring from my practice at the end of the month and have a lot to get through before then. No doubt I will be lurking somewhere but will need to refrain from posting. Keep associating folks

From April I will be a free spirit doing locums as the need arises.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                                Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
