      Not bad, mercs, not bad Possibly a little tenuous... but who knows how the Associating part of Sir Velo's mind works. We await clarification as and when he pedals back!
      "...the isle is full of noises,
      Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
      Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

            Sorry chaps all barking up the wrong tree, so far.

            1st clue: the ennobled composer is often associated with Edwardian Britain, although he outlived that period considerably;
            the 2nd clue: pianist is female;
            3rd clue: the Parisian landmark commemorates French military victories.

              I came across Marie Novello earlier, who appeared at the Proms seven times and died aged 30, but that didn't get me very far

              so is that Lord Berners ?

                  Half right, Mercs! Marie Novello is correct.

                    well well well - one of Ivor N's shows is Arc de Triomphe (1943)

                      I don't think Ivor was a Lord was he ?
                      Or a Sir as that was my first port of call!

                          More help with the first clue. Our Edwardian knight had a connection with this "N", as did other composers of the period.

                              Novello & Co, who published most of Baronet Elgar's Music.
