Perhaps Librettists? Francois Maria Piave & Antonio Piazza wrote librettos for Verdi."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Sir V .... "mind" ?! Au contraire, more the merrier and it would be great if more would pop and stick around too!
What a great pleasure and an impressive way for you to make your entrance- that has all the hallmarks of a clean sweep"...the isle is full of noises,

Well, an "n" to gnaw at. What n links:
an ennobled British composer;
a tragically short-lived concert pianist who performed regularly at The Proms;
an "iconic" Parisian landmark.Last edited by Sir Velo; 14-03-13, 07:27.

First thought: the composer has to be Britten or Berkeley... So a link involving one of their compositions?
Second thought: the name Noël Mewton-Wood comes to mind as regards the unhappy pianist
So a Christmassy connection with the other elements? The finale of "A boy was born" is entitled "Noël!"
