Yes, we are having a very gay day Duckie!! Beggers Opera and the song Gay Caballero, the missing third element is in no way non PC (would I ever be politically incorrect?!) does not require any mincing and is written by another composer called Gay ....
Glad I made you laugh, I have no idea why I thought of that silly song, which was recorded in 1928 by Frank Crumit. Edit: was still typing so didn't see Am's clip!

Yes, from the Musical Me and My Girl which opened in 1937 (revived in 1984 by Stephen Fry) Noel Gay wrote the music for Lambeth Walk, but not the lyrics.
So that's all neatly wrapped up (sorry it wasn't more classically inclined)
