I turn my back for a minute.... You lot are quicker than quicksilver, and more cunning than... (let's not go there).

The answer to the individual clues was Mercury, which as Anna correctly identified, is aka Quicksilver.

The third planet, as Anton identified, is where Mercury is placed in Holst's suite.

So I guess it's Anna or Anton for Rrrrrrr!

The very catchy music of "Third Rock..." is in the second half of this title sequence... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0c9RK...eature=related

I think it's anton, he got Mercury first and the Holst. So, on our Eurovision link, we hand you over to Barcelona! Que? No, I mean R !

            Too quick for me...

I have just been reminded that I am going to a wine-tasting with clients this evening

To my chagrin I suspect at this rate I shall miss R and maybe a few more letters besides.

            Cheers all

Oh how terribly spooky! I too have a wine tasting, a rather promising young Chilean, medium bodied, with promises of ripe berries and spicey plums!

Bang goes any prospect of a romantic paella. Hope her ladyship is as indulgent with you as Mrs R is with me, Anton!

What R links a Tweed related composer
A post war giant(?) with a daddy imprisoned during the General Strike
And another striker with a very long career?
