... aha - then Mr Custard, who was referred to on the radio the other morning.

And I'm afraid Me Caliban is teasing us with a 1980s beat combo.
          I won't be teased.

"Organic" as in "playing/played on an organ"?

No idea of the answer I'm afraid, something tells me it's the Cocteau Twins, well, probably not, as they are not classical, but, if, indeed, you do like the Cocteau Twins, as I do, then, in fact, I think you are totally wonderful!!
On the othter flipper, if you don't like them, well .... Pooh! to you! And they don't start with an H.
edit: only joking, and going off line now!

So among the quips and the wimples, who is going to be a splendid chapess or chap and set out the answer????

Well, only because I mentioned Threni on Bbn's "Easter Music" thread earlier today, and it occured to me that, as it's the only work by Stravinsky that includes an organ part, "organic Stravinsky" might be useful in a future AA.

                          Bit redundant now.

Err .... yes, a trifle irrelevant.

Geddit?? trifle - custard - trifle - custard

Oh OK since everybody else has scuttled off.

                              The answer is Goss

Twins Luke & Matt Goss, forming the boys band Bros (which vinteuil knew )

John Goss organist and composer 1800 - 1880

The brothers Reginald & Harry Goss- Custard both also organists, Reginald also composed.

Well none of these to my taste actually!

Quite right! The only thing missing would be the snow link: the familiar setting of the carol / hymn "See, amid the winter's snow..." was written by Sir John Goss. It's a Christmas tune I rather like, actually. Apart from that, I agree with you taste-wise.
