Well I'm lost, I have been working (and am still supposed to be). But I found this just now:
Dance for Burgess, for chamber orchestra, survives from another failed sojourn into the world of entertainment music. The actor Burgess Meredith [Pengy], a friend of Varèse’s, was getting ready to act in and direct a musical called Happy as Larry. Meredith requested a short dance for the production, to be choreographed by Anna Sokolow, but the show folded almost immediately and Varèse seems to have forgotten about the music.Last edited by Flay; 21-02-13, 18:16.Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Another admirer was the rock/jazz group Chicago, whose pianist/keyboardist Robert Lamm credited Varèse as a strong influence in his songwriting. In tribute, one of Lamm's songs was called "A Hit By Varèse".Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Blimey - cross-posting like Twister tonight!
A full house! Total respect, as always, to Anna, but full details from Flay who gets the next letter (which, by recents standards, is probably a G!)Numquam Satis!
