Yes - er.. well done! These pieces are well worth listening to - on Naxos, so available with their online listening service.

Perhaps not quite as interesting as Froberger, but very good. The CD notes accord him some merit as being amongst the first (along with e.g. Muffat) of synthesizing the French style of suite with the German dance suite.

ah well....the reward for this Quest.....

Paolo Quagliati (c. 1555 – 16 November 1628) worked in Rome inc. composing Il carro di fedeltà d'amore and La sfera armoniosa

But he was born in Chioggia, not far from Venice and rather like it.
